Our mother passed away in June 2017 at the age of 82. She was a chiropractor, master genealogist and avid researcher. It was only natural that she had elected to donate her body to science when she passed and registered with Research for Life as a whole body donor. Although we never had a traditional funeral for her, knowing that even in death she was helping the living gave us peace and remembering she was a remarkable woman who was ahead of her time.
Like Patricia Dailey, I will also become a donor to help save someone. I have lost nine siblings to heart and diabetic diseases. I myself am a diabetic. I’m a USN retired veteran with 20 years service. Knowing that I am able to donate my organs with the intent to save lives makes me feel great.
