Honoring Your Loved One
Your loved one gave the ultimate gift—life to others. We’re here to help you honor that legacy. Whether it’s through remembrance events, a digital memorial page or simply staying connected, we want you to know: Their story matters, and it will never be forgotten.
Their Stories
Live On
Looking for a digital way to create a page in your loved one’s honor? You can add their story of generosity on our website to share with friends and family. Others visiting the site can add their memories and photos to the story page.
Events that Honor, Connect and Inspire
We host meaningful events throughout the year to honor organ donors, support families, celebrate recipients and bring together the donation community. Every gathering is a chance to remember, connect and make a difference. Some of the events you can expect:
Quilt-Pinning Ceremonies
A heartfelt gathering where donor families honor their loved ones by adding a patch to a memorial quilt. Learn more about donor quilts.
Donate Life Day at the Arizona Diamondbacks
Join other donor families and donation supporters for a day of baseball, remembrance and celebration at Chase Field in downtown Phoenix. Typically in the summer, this game includes a Celebration of Life parade on the field before the game. Join our email list or follow us on social media to stay up to date on the next game.
Community Events and Speaking Opportunities
Stay up to date with us. The best way is by signing up to be a volunteer. Our volunteers go out in the community at registration tables—even formal presentations. This is how you can educate Arizonans about donation and share your connection. Plus, monthly meetings bring the volunteers together to learn, share and honor legacies.
Recipes of Remembrance
Special food and time shared at the table together are memories we all have. The idea behind “Recipes of Remembrance” was to find a unique way to honor and remember our donor heroes through their favorite foods and recipes. Click here to view past editions of “Recipes of Remembrance.”
How to Participate: We’ll send you an invitation to participate in this special project typically within the first year of being in contact. Invitations are sent in the spring to donor families from the previous calendar year. Recipes are usually collected in the spring/summer, and printed and distributed at the end of the year.
Donor Family Quilts
The Arizona Donor Quilt and the Patches of Love Quilt (created by children) are moving tributes to donors and the families who loved them. Each handmade quilt square tells a story—stitched with memories and care. We display these quilts across Arizona as a tribute to the gift of life.
Partner hospitals and other organizations, including Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division and Authorized Third Party offices, can request donor quilts to display in their lobby or office to honor the memories of donors. Each square shows others the faces and lives behind donation.
How to Participate: We’ll send you an invitation to create a quilt square(s) and attend a ceremony after a year of being in contact. Families who can’t attend a quilt-pinning ceremony in person still have the chance to honor their loved one by mailing in a quilt square with words of tribute.
Every stitch matters. Every story deserves to be seen.
