National Donate Life Month, celebrated in April each year, gives us the opportunity to honor and remember donor heroes, celebrate the lives they saved and healed, and encourage Arizonans to register as organ and tissue donors.
This year’s theme, “Leave a Legacy,” reminds us that one selfless decision can create a lasting impact for generations to come. Like the roots of a tree reaching far beyond what we can see, the gift of donation continues to grow through every life saved and healed.
Our goal this April was to inspire Arizonans across the state to leave a legacy through organ and tissue donor registration.
Thanks to the support of the 154 participating organizations, we saw …
112 total DLM events
379 new registrations
& 1,253 total registrations and reaffirmations
Together, these efforts helped inspire more Arizonans to register and bring hope to those waiting for a lifesaving transplant.
Final Standings
We couldn’t have reached these registrations without the help of our participating partners.
To gain points, these organizations helped register organ and tissue donors and completed other activities that celebrated donation. Driver’s license partners could also win the challenge by increasing their Donor Designation Rate*.
And the winners are … 🥁

Small Hospital: Abrazo West Campus
Medium Hospital: Chandler Regional Medical Center and Mayo Clinic
Large Hospital: Banner – Thunderbird Medical Center
Community Partner: Pinnacle Transplant Technologies
Authorized Third Party Office: Footework Branch 2251
North MVD: Wickenburg MVD | East MVD: Apache Junction MVD | South MVD: Tucson East MVD | West MVD: West Phoenix – 51st Ave MVD
*Donor designation rate is the percentage of people who registered or reaffirmed their decision as organ and tissue donors from all the credentials issued.
How We Celebrated
Donate Life Month would not be possible without the support of our volunteers, partner organizations, sponsors and donation champions across Arizona.

Throughout April, hospitals, churches, nonprofits, schools, driver’s license partners and community organizations hosted registration tables, flag-raising ceremonies and awareness events to help spread the lifesaving message of organ and tissue donation.
Together, volunteers contributed 364
volunteer hours during Donate Life Month alone, helping educate communities across Arizona and inspiring others to register as donors.
The theme “Leave a Legacy” came to life through community events, educational outreach and meaningful stories shared by donor families and recipients.

We raised the Donate Life flag. Signed proclamations. Created blue and green art. Shared stories. We came together in powerful ways to honor the gift of life.

Thank You Isn’t Enough
To the hospitals, community partners, MVD offices, volunteers and supporters who helped make this year’s Donate Life Month celebration possible—thank you.
Your dedication helps honor donor heroes, support transplant recipients and inspire more Arizonans to say “yes” to donation.
And of course, none of this would be possible without the support of our generous sponsors: Gold Book Financial, Artivion and National Bank of Arizona. Their commitment to the mission helps us continue sharing hope and saving lives across Arizona.
