Elizabeth aka Liz, never believed in donation of organs or tissue. That changed when she was diagnosed with emphysema and was placed on the transplant list in the summer of 2011. Liz was extremely lucky to get the call only a few months later. She had a double lung transplant in October 2011. She was the 99th person to receive this type of transplant at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Arizona.
Having undergone the procedure, she was able to meet her third and final granddaughter and make lasting memories with her family.
Liz was extremely thankful and sympathetic for her donors and their family.
She passed in October 2015.
