On Sept. 9, 2003, I was blessed with the greatest gift of life. My second chance at life began when Fred Quick selflessly donated his kidney to me. I was a single mom, with two beautiful sons and had been on dialysis for nearly four years. The moment I got that call, the call that forever changed my life and the lives of my children, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude. There are no words to describe what I was feeling, it was incredible. Today and every day, I live life to the fullest in honor of my living donor, Fred Quick. Donation really saves lives and so much more. I’m forever grateful.
