My dad underwent a multi visceral transplant in 2007 at UPMC, by Dr. Kareem Abu-elmagd. Dad is doing great and we are so grateful. I am now a patient of Dr. Kareem’s at Cleveland Clinic, where he is now. I am scheduled for an intestinal surgery in January in hopes that my doctor can reconstruct my remaining bowels, otherwise I will need an intestinal transplant as well. I have all the confidence in the abilities of my amazing doctor and faith in our Lord above, and know that everything will be fine and good either way. I’m currently running TPN infusions at home for 12 hours every day to prepare me for the surgery. I am also a registered organ donor.
