It’s a simple and thankless gesture that can mean so much. By checking a box, I agreed to give something vital to someone in need, someone I will never meet and someone who will be forever thankful for their second chance.
As a professional fundraiser and someone who works with many nonprofits, I know how important donations are to organizations. Whether its money, goods, or time, organizations could not exist without donor support.
With that in mind, I personally contribute to many organizations but perhaps my most impactful gift, is the gift of life. I know that by being an organ donor, I can give someone another day and that is pretty powerful.
