My wife of 43 years received a kidney transplant 2 days ago (2 kidneys at one time, actually). Not until then did I realize what a donation can mean to a recipient or recipient’s family. Our oldest son became a registered donor yesterday. I became one today. Our youngest son (the smart one) has been a donor for years.
